Advanced Construction Technology Services runs what it describes as the first fire resistance laboratory in Saudi Arabia — before it, a Saudi project’s fire test evidence had to be produced abroad. The laboratory is accredited by the International Accreditation Service, the Saudi Accreditation Center and the Gulf Accreditation Center, and endorsed by the Saudi Civil Defense, which is the approval that makes a test usable in the Kingdom. Its scope runs to fire doors, walls, glazed partitions and ceilings, and to load-bearing elements, skylights and roof assemblies tested under vertical and horizontal loading, against both the ASTM and BS EN families; it also does reaction-to-fire testing and firestop site inspection.
