A fire testing and materials laboratory at Bruay-la-Buissière since 1995, built around the fire behaviour of materials and the chemistry of making them fire retardant, and one of the few French laboratories recognised for testing in mass passenger transport — the rail and transit regime, where the material rather than the building element is what gets classified. It has held COFRAC accreditation for the fire behaviour of materials since 1999 (accreditation 1-5860) and is notified body 2137 at European level for reaction to fire tests supporting the CE marking of construction products.
