DBI is Denmark’s leading independent institute for fire and security and one of the country’s approved GTS (Certified Technological Service) institutes. It is designated as a notified body and accredited by DANAK for inspection, testing, certification and fire investigation — the investigation department under DANAK registration 9035 to DS/EN ISO/IEC 17020 — and it opened northern Europe’s first laboratory for accredited testing of detection systems to the EN 54 series, which is the evidence a fire alarm product needs before it can be specified anywhere in the EU. Alongside that testing, certification and research it runs a genuine fire-safety consultancy (brandrådgivning) arm with certified fire advisors covering all building classes, providing impartial fire strategy, authority documentation and design support as an aid to professional judgement.
