The UK’s national fire safety association, and — since the ownership bar for this category was widened — one of its listable laboratories: the FPA sells accredited testing to non-members, which is what admits an association. It holds UKAS accreditation 10536 to ISO/IEC 17025:2017, and its capability sits across two Gloucestershire sites: BS 8414 façade test rigs at Moreton-in-Marsh, where it also runs reaction-to-fire testing, and a laboratory at Blockley holding two fire resistance furnaces — the larger a four-by-three metre wall furnace that takes bigger specimens and more systems at once. UL Solutions funded those furnaces when the laboratory opened in November 2022 but the FPA operates them under its own accreditation, so this is the entry for them and not UL’s. It was also among the first UK laboratories accredited for BS 8458 watermist system testing.
