A long-established Dutch consulting-engineering firm (building physics, acoustics, aerodynamics and fire safety), founded in 1932. Its fire-safety-engineering practice designs integral, performance-based solutions for evacuation, smoke and fire compartmentation, smoke control and beheersbaarheid van brand, particularly for atria, high-rise, underground and sprinklered buildings. Uniquely among Dutch consultancies, Peutz operates its own accredited fire laboratory: the Laboratorium voor Brandveiligheid is accredited by the Raad voor Accreditatie to NEN-EN-ISO/IEC 17025 (L334) and designated notified body 2264 by the Ministry of the Interior, testing building materials and constructions for fire behaviour, fire resistance and smoke leakage to the EN and NEN series including NEN 6069, plus roof classification against flying brands and extended application assessments — so its test results carry CE marking weight across the EU. Outputs support professional judgement rather than replacing it.
