Sachverständigenbüro Lang GbR has investigated fire and explosion causes since 1988 from Irmtraut in the Westerwald. Technical director Wolfgang Lang spent more than thirty years at the Hessisches Landeskriminalamt investigating fire causes, latterly as head of the Brandursachenforschung department at the LKA’s Kriminalwissenschaftliches und -technisches Institut, and contributed to joint vehicle-fire research with the Adam Opel technical development centre. Two further fire experts in the nine-person team hold combined electrical-engineering and criminalistic training, and the office attends several hundred fire scenes a year across buildings, vehicles, agricultural machinery and new-energy technologies.
